ITINERARY

Day 1: Saigon to Can Tho by bike

After leaving Saigon, our shuttle will take you out of town to avoid the teeming traffic. At My Tho, the gateway to the mighty Mekong, collect your cycles and enjoy the first day in saddle. The ride offers peaceful country lanes and quiet roads that pass through local villages and along canals. Stop at Cai Be where you will have lunch in a French colonial styled villa then continue the cycle journey toward Vinh Long where you board the bus and transfer to Can Tho

Day 2: Can Tho to Soc Trang

Take a morning boat ride to explore the bustling Cai Rang floating market where hundreds of local people trade on the river. After enjoying a boat trip to experience the small canals around Can Tho, stop at a local orchard to taste juicy tropical fruit then pedal along the river bank. The scenery is peaceful and dotted with bananas trees and fruit orchards and you can also visit other local markets along the way to watch how the local merchandisers do business. On the ride to Soc Trang, the capital of the Khmer religion, you will see many Khmer pagodas along the way. Take the opportunity to stop and meet with friendly monks before continuing toward the town of Soc Trang

Day 3: Soc Trang to Sa Dec

After leaving Soc Trang by bus, transfer to the Can Tho ferry, pick up your cycles and enjoy riding along the bank of the Hau River to Sa Dec.  Cycle through country lanes, paddy fields, bamboo villages and windy paths then enjoy a picnic lunch along the way. After checking into your hotel at Sa Dec, visit some of the local sights by cycle including the riverside market, old houses, the French villas of colonial times and historic temples and pagodas.

Day 4: Sa Dec to Cao Lanh

Start riding on small riverside routes dotted with old houses, temples, pagodas and churches, to a flower village. After crossing a river by ferry, bike to Xeo Quyt via a green islet, continue cycling till you reach Xeo Quyt, an evergreen Cajeput forest. A small boat will take you into the forest where vestiges of an army base can still be seen. A further 15 km of biking from Xeo Quyt will bring you to Thanh My village where you keep cycling along a main road (22km) and either transfer to the van or cycle the remaining 20kms to Cao Lanh. Visit the Tomb of Junior Doctor Nguyen Sinh Sac, father of president Ho Chi Minh before finishing at the Song Tra hotel where you overnight
